SAM AS Programme manager for the British Retail Consortium's (BRC) Leaders Summer School programme
In addition to my John Lewis leadership experience, I am also Programme Manager for the British Retail Consortium’s Leaders Summer School. Delivering this role means that I have a rich experience in facilitating full plenary delegations, introducing and summarising for keynote speakers, hosting Q&As, delivering workshops or key speeches myself. The BRC, the go to trade association for all UK retailers, myself and the programme designers build, train and support the group coaches to facilitate an 8-week course which starts and ends with an experiential residential and is bridged by a 6 week virtual course.
This international course is well respected and provides delegates with stretch and inspirational learning experiences that returns them back to their business more aware of their own leadership capabilities as well as being better versed and confident to successfully tackle the challenges their sector and, indeed, our planet is facing as a result.
This unique, 92-year-old programme (formerly known as Oxford Summer School then OSS Retail) is a key part of the BRC's learning offer.
My involvement dates back 16 years since attending as a delegate, then progressing to group coach then lead group coach and now their Programme Manager since 2018. The opportunities to learn and develop have been rich and very rewarding.
I’m an Accredited Trainer for 7th WAVE, a people training company and I deliver experience-based leadership workshops for managers that recognises the challenges faced when transitioning from ‘doing and delivering’ great results into managing and leading others to ‘do and deliver’ great results with coaching between workshops.
